Manchester Masons Hold Their Joint Representatives Meeting.
Manchester Masons came together at Manchester Hall on Monday 30th April to hold their joint district representatives meeting. Manchester Lodges and Chapters were well represented with 30 Manchester Masons being in attendance. WBro David Hudson who chaired the meeting thanked all those in attendance for making the effort to be present.
Hot topics for discussion on the night were the Giving Evening taking place at Manchester Hall on the 3rd May when Manchester Masons will be donating monies to their nominated charities, many of which will be in attendance to receive cheques. The Provincial Grand Master, Sir David Trippier will also be in attendance along with the Lord Lieutenant, Mr Warren Smith JP.
Refreshments will be provided and all Masons their families and friends are encouraged to attend.
WBro Hudson informed the audience that WBro Chris Wildman has become the Deputy Chairman for Sykes District whilst WBro Michael Bartle had taken over the office of Secretary for Sykes District.
Excellent Companion, Russel Conn, gave a report on the Royal Arch, of special interest, were the Royal Arch lectures that are now available to all Chapters through the provincial website along with the Talking Heads presentation that is taking place at Arkscroll Lodge on the 1st November 2018.
Recruitment was also discussed and WBro Paul O’Carroll explained to those present how important it is that the Lodge Membership Officer is chosen carefully, ideally, he should be committed and motivated to improve recruitment within his lodge and the office should not be looked upon as a sinecure. WBro O’Carroll went on to inform those present that during the new season a Manchester lodge will be holding a joint white table event and that all Manchester lodges will be encouraged to support the event and bring along any friends, colleagues or family members who are interested in joining Freemasonry in Manchester.
Several dates were announced under any other business, the Broken Column dinner will take place on the 3rd of September 2018 and the Entertainment Evening will take place on Thursday, November 8th, 2018. It is hoped that all Manchester Masons will support these two showpiece events for Manchester Masonry.
Finally, WBro Hudson introduced the new Chairman of the Manchester Level Club, Sergio Prezioso, to the audience. The Manchester Level Club is a social club for new and young masons with Manchester Masonry at its heart. The members socialise together outside of masonry but also support Manchester Masonry by visiting lodges within the area with the patch APGM WBro Chris Welton. Sergio described some of the activities that the club will be getting involved in over the summer recess, for more information on the club please contact us through the website.
